ABOUT
After a career in public museums and art galleries I now spend my time working with clay in my studio at Persistence Works in Sheffield. I make vessels and domestic sized sculptures in stoneware clay. All my pots are hand built. I have a fondness for matte surfaces created with slips and oxides as well as embedding incised lines and various marks in the clay to develop the depth and complexity of the surface. The natural world is my inspiration especially the formation of the land, its stones and the weather. Each piece is unique, made in response to the clay - its tactility and varied texture.
